UPCOMING! MASTODON HEADLINGING US TOUR
The last time I saw Mastodon was at the Bowery Ballroom on May 12th, 2005. Since then they have been playing these enormous arena shows with the likes of Slayer and other bigshots. Refusing to submit to a ridiculous trip to Camden to see these guys, I've been patiently awaiting a headlining tour of smaller venues. My, OUR, prayers have been answered as the band has recently announced a US tour. They will be supported by Converge and The Bronx. They hit Webster Hall on September 8th.

Is that the...jakov mammoth???
Why is Mastodon so revered in certain metal circles? Music? Chops? Soul? What is it?
I definitely think the chops has a lot to do with it. Most metal heads are sick of this over produced, generic shit that's out there. Mastodon brings back that gritty, Master of Puppets / Slayer, metal vibe
